My academic path, marked by a Ph.D. from City University of Hong Kong\u00a0under the guidance of Prof. Wen Zhou, has been dedicated to dissecting the air-sea interactions crucial for understanding climate variability in the Asian-Australian monsoon region. I gained my bachelor degree at Nanjing University of Information Science &amp; Technology and my master degree from Sun Yat-Sen University under the guidance of Prof. Song Yang.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My investigations, initially motivated by the significant long-term climatic variability effects attributed to the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD), have been aimed at unraveling its physical mechanisms. This starting point led me to uncover a lot of interesting phenomena regarding how inter-basin air-sea interactions across seasons impact the Asian-Australian monsoon climate variability. Building on these discoveries, I have conducted a series of mechanistic studies and published related articles, all contributing to a deeper understanding of regional climate dynamics.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I was awarded the Outstanding Academic Performance Award for Research Degree Students and the Research Tuition Scholarship from City University of Hong Kong in 2017. He played a pivotal role in advancing the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) climate system model and pioneered the development of a Global-Regional Integrated Forecasting System. By innovatively coupling self-developed micro-scale high-resolution meteorological models with global climate system frameworks through two-way integration, he engineered the Ensemble Seamless Prediction System (ESS)\u2014a multi-scale forecasting platform featuring adaptive regional mesh refinement. Leveraging this system, he further devised AI-driven error correction algorithms and high-resolution regional modeling technologies, achieving marked improvements in predictive accuracy for typhoon trajectory forecasting, power grid meteorological risk assessment, and extreme weather disaster early warning systems.<\/p><p>As both the leader of an R&amp;D innovation team at a major central state-owned enterprise and a dual-appointed expert at the Huairou National Laboratory, he brings over a decade of expertise in core meteorological technology innovation and industrial applications. He has directed or contributed to more than 10 national and provincial-level research programs, including the National Natural Science Foundation (NSFC) Youth Project, Huairou Laboratory Major R&amp;D Initiative, CAS Strategic Priority Research Program (Category B), NSFC Key Projects, National Key R&amp;D Program of China, NSFC International Collaborative Projects, and multiple enterprise-level R&amp;D initiatives. My PhD research investigates the variability and physical mechanisms of the Siberian High (SibH)\u2014a key component of the East Asian winter monsoon system. My main research achievements include: 1. Propose and objectively detect the formation of SibH, and reveal its climatological characteristics, interannual variability as well as the underlying physical mechanisms. 2. Currently, I am involved in the development of a deep-learning model for predicting storm surges. I am very interested in developing surrogate storm surge models for rapid prediction, while also dedicated to exploring their interpretability. My research interests focus on climate dynamics, monsoon dynamics, large-scale air-sea interaction, and the response of the global monsoon systems to global warming. I plan to utilize multiple datasets, various diagnosis methods, and numerical model simulation to reveal the physical mechanism under different climate phenomena and explore the variation of large-scale monsoon systems in the future.
